Jillian Approved: Humor, News and Nonsense

Soooo, you’re checking me out? It’s cool, I understand. I mean when someone has an “About Me” page, people are bound to click on it sooner or later. No one blames you, especially not me.

But I’m going to go ahead and be honest here: I have no idea what to say. Do I start from my early childhood and take you on the journey that has made me who I am today? Or do I start with last week and fill you in right up to NOW? Tricky tricky. I guess I’ll describe myself as best I can. That’s a pretty good start, right?

Here goes:

I enjoy comic books, football, cooking, eating, watching TV, sarcasm, coffee, and humorous observations. As of this writing I am training to become a School Bus Driver for a High School [EDIT: I passed my Driving Test!!!! It’s official! I’m no longer training, I AM a bus driver!). A few of my past jobs include: Transportation Security Officer, Distribution Associate for an entertainment research company (I used to send detailed reports to clients regarding how their movies grossed in different markets), store clerk for a shop specializing in the meta-physical (you know: crystals, meditation, aroma-therapy, etc. etc. etc.), and I did a bit of online marketing. I’ve held other jobs, but I think these are the ones worth mentioning. I’m hoping they make me sound… interesting.

I was married May 6, 2007. My husband’s name is Jan (pronounced “yawn”, but no one says it that way). Anytime I mention him online, he’s always “The H”. In the spirit of new beginnings, I thought I would start dropping his name. So it’s Jan. And yes, it looks like a girl’s name but trust me: He’s super manly and stuff. It’s pretty funny when he receives things in the mail addressed to “Miss Jan….” This happens a lot, but he takes it all in stride.

I recently moved from Blogger to what you see here: my own little spot on the World Wide Web. My blog originally started out as a personal blog, then morphed into a kind of humor blog. I think that’s awesome, it shows growth. And I’m all about growth, well not the fungus kind… that’s gross (unless we’re talking mushrooms, the LEGAL and EDIBLE kind). Anyway, this blog will eventually serve as a place that speaks to most of the things I take an interest in. So you’ll be reading a little bit about the TV I watch, the movies I like, the news stories I bother to read, and my general take on things (like any other time). Same voice, more topics! And hopefully presented in a way that’s more organized!
