Sweet Concoctions and Dark Secrets… Revealed!

You know when you’re trying to open your chocolate pudding and the foil cover splits in half? I hate that. I wind up having to stick my finger in the pudding so I can peel back the uncooperative portion. Then of course I lick the pudding from my finger (waste not want not, people) leaving it vaguely chocolaty and sticky. So hours later after my hand has brushed across my clothes numerous times, that one finger is covered in all kinds of lint and looks like a mossy piece of fruit someone should dispose of. Seriously, that foil lid has a severe design flaw.

Jillian and the Mystical Sweets

I was eating some of those heart-shaped candies you get for Valentine’s Day, they’re harder than Adamantium but I like them. Anyway, I didn’t notice how interesting some of the messages on the hearts were until I was almost done with the bag.

At first, I wrote them off as stupid. But then I got to thinking, what if someone is trying to tell me something? What if some cosmic force was trying to communicate and the only way it could was through sweets? And how many of these confectionery “messages” did I miss by absentmindedly shoving them in my mouth? I got scared. What if, in some parallel universe, someone or thing was depending on the likes of me to somehow save the world?

The Hubby and I were supposed to make it over to a friend’s house in time to watch the New England/Chargers game, but as usual, we were late. We overslept. The good news is (well maybe it’s not GOOD news) I knew the Pats were going to win. Even though we missed practically the whole game I don’t feel THAT bad, it’s not like I’m surprised by the outcome. But I suppose since it’s the play-offs EVERY game is worth watching. Yeah yeah yeah. I’ll try and catch the highlights of this game a little later.

Chicken and Dumplings

When I was a kid, I wanted to play:

A friend of my mom called me up and asked me if I had ever broken a leg, dislocated a shoulder, or sprained a finger. Of course the answer to all those questions was “No”. I fancied myself a tomboy; able to play rough with the boys and not get hurt. But… I was effectively scared into “safer” activities.
